Thursday July 26
5:15 PM - 7:00 PM

Come aboard our historic education vessel, Mildred Belle, and celebrate the Year of the Anacostia with us as we bring science and literature alive! Your family will learn all about the Anacostia River, observe its wildlife and ecology, and enjoy storytime with an environmentally-focused tale. We'll help children craft their very own critter AND each family will receive a FREE book to take home with them! This event will feature the book "Over and Under the Pond" by Kate Messner and illustrations by Christopher Silas Neal. Much like Mildred Belle, the book will bring to life a secret underwater world as readers discover the plants and animals that make up our ecosystem. *Fun for all ages!

*Please note, Mildred Belle is only equipped for youth 50 lbs. and over. Youth under 50 lbs. are welcome to participate, provided they bring their own life jacket. ** All children must be accompanied by an adult.**

The boat will get underway promptly at 5:30 PM; please arrive to the dock by 5:15 PM. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages aboard. Please no glass!
